But First of all, what is STEM and why is it so hot now?
STEM is a short form for the four subjects namely Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. But STEM education is a curriculum where these 4 disciplines are not taught as standalone subjects. Rather, these subjects are taught using an interdisciplinary approach and usually involved some real-world application approach.
With the advancement of IT and technology and the attempt to breakaway from traditional style of teaching (which is actually quite boring), it isn’t surprising that STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) education is the “in-thing” nowadays.
Many schools (including some elite primary schools) are starting to introduce robotics in their curriculum. Just this year, MOE announced that all upper primary students in Singapore will have to learn coding from 2020. And STEM robotics might even be officially in the O-levels syllabus by 2020!
So the earlier you and your child gets exposed to STEM education, the better it is.
Sounds scary, isn't it?
Well, as a parent myself, I know it is important to expose our children to different positive learning experiences early enough so that the earlier positive experience will make them like and embrace learning the subject rather than become fearful or even reject that subject later on in their academic education.
More importantly, how do we make learning about technology, science and mathematics fun so that it becomes an enriching and fun experience for the child?

However, despite our best intentions to try to figure out, we are often plague with:
• Not knowing how to even get started • Not understanding even where to start with picking the right school • Not knowing how to identify good pricing Instead of signing up your child for a full term of STEM courses to learn robotics or coding straightaway (which typically is at least 3-6 months long), why not try out the experience in a 100 minute experiential workshop? |
You can get your children to experience FULL STEM early for only S$50
STEM academy of Singapore is organizing a full STEM experiential project in August, whereby your child will get to experience a full STEM project in 100 minutes. The cost is only S$50, but you will get more than just a workshop.
But, what is Whole Brain Development?
Whole brain development is a new method of helping a child to develop their brain through a series of multiple exposure to specific stimulus.
The result of it is the child is better at absorbing different forms of information, both logic and creative based, making comprehensive understanding more natural and making it easier for a child to master more complex tasks. |
Here's what some studies have shown:
A child with a smart developed brain typically reads well and enjoys school and is a good problem solver. With a developed brain, the child will find it easier to grasp the difficult concepts in science and mathematics that are taught in primary schools in Singapore today.

How do you develop the whole brain of a child?
The first step starts with identifying what are the strengths and weakness of your child when it comes to learning and what “super powers” that they have an affinity for.
This is done through a series of games, tests and quizzes that are specially designed to test different functions of the whole brain.
To help with this, STEM Academy of Singapore makes use of a brainwave sensor called the Neeuro SenzeBand that detects the child’s brain activities.
First the child is asked to perform some tasks like playing games and solving puzzles.
These activities are specially designed to test different parts of the child’s ability like logical thinking, language ability, and creativity, auditory, visual and kinesthetic ability.
By tracking how the brain reacts to these training sessions, they are able to identify the strengths and weakness of your child and map out what you can do to allow your child to improve by maximizing the potential of the brain.

What is FULL STEM?
However a STEM education does not just involve learning about the sciences alone. You got to incorporate creativity into the curriculum to make it a complete and rewarding experience too! Who says engineers cannot be creative?

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is STEM?
STEM is a curriculum that is integrates the teaching of 4 specific subjects - science, technology, engineering and mathematics using an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teaching the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
2. Who is this workshop for?
Although this program is for children from 5-12 years old, I feel that it will benefit children who are 5-8 years old much more.
3. What is so special about STEM Academy of Singapore?
STEM Academy of Singapore is the only STEM enrichment center that integrates whole brain development into their STEM program. Through brainwave analysis and talent profiling, they are able to identify the strengths and weakness of your child and tailor their program that best suits your child.
4. How long is the workshop and how much do I have to pay?
The experiential workshop is 100 minutes and the cost is only S$50
5. How does WHOLE brain development help my child?
When the whole brain is developed, the child will be better in absorbing forms of information, both logic and creative based. A child with a smart developed brain typically reads well and enjoys school and is a good problem solver. With a developed brain, the child will find it easier to grasp the difficult concepts in science and mathematics that are taught in primary schools in Singapore today.
6. I’m not sure if I should sign up.
The reason why we have the experiential workshop is for the child to experience what the STEM program is like and see if he or she likes it. On top of that, STEM Academy of Singapore is giving a complimentary Brainwave Energy Analysis Report and Consultation, whereby they will explain the results of the tests and tell you what are your child’s strengths and weakness. The consultation itself alone normally costs parents US$97.
7. How do I make payment?
By Bank Transfer
